Thursday - Revelation 12

Comments from Ben's text:

They triumphed over him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony;
they did not love their lives so much
as to shrink from death. (Revelation 12:11 NIV)

Through Jesus we can triumph over the devil. As long as we do not value our lives or possessions too much. We need to to remember that all good comes from God and when we sacrifice for him we are just letting him use what is rightly his.

  1. Revelation 12: 11-12 - They triumphed over him
    by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony;they did not love their lives so muchas to shrink from death. Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury,because he knows that his time is short.

    We are in a war. Satan has been thrown out of heaven by Christ in a battle and he is angry about his position on earth. It is a battle of good vs. evil, light vs. dark, God vs. Satan. Ezekiel tells us that Satan was at one time a beautiful, annointed cherubim of God. This battle began when man was created and placed on planet earth, the main battlefield was transferred to earth from the heavens around this time and man became the utltimate prize for Satan. The coming of Christ was to make a way so that man might escape from the Kingdom of Evil/Darkness and come the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Jesus fought the battle against Satan and won. He now shares His victory with all who will trust in Him. Satan is defeated, Jesus will/has triumphed.
